The game is now schedule to launch sometime "later this year."

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus, the version of the strategy game coming to PlayStation Vita, was supposed to launch in December 2015, but was pushed to January 26, 2016 just a day before it was scheduled to launch. Now, the portable game has been delayed again, moving out to sometime "later this year," according to a post on the official Civilization Facebook page.

"Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for PlayStation Vita is now launching in North America and Europe later this year," reads a line from the statement (via NeoGAF). "The team is hard at work making sure the title lives up to fans' expectations, and we appreciate your continued patience as we take the time needed to prepare the title for global release in 2016."

Unlike the first Civilization Revolution, which was released for consoles, PC, and mobile, the sequel was initially only available for mobile devices. The game is developed by Firaxis Games, creator of the Civilization series.

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus launched as scheduled on December 3, 2015 in Asia.

I played this on Android for about 4 solid months (during travel, commutes, etc.), and much like its predecessor on consoles it's an EXCELLENT "Civ Lite" game. You can play a full match in less than two hours, and the large variety of leaders & challenge lists keeps things interesting.

The main problem I have is that 2K China stopped patching after the first or second patch came out. There are some pretty obvious UI & math bugs that haven't been addressed for over a year. It'll be interesting to see if they fix them before this new re-release.

You know articles like this use to piss me off(cuz im such a fan of the franchise), but now that I've decided to purchase a high end pc i can play the REAL civilization games. I use to be strictly console based(own civ revolution & still play it to this day), but I'll admit that pc's have more of the games i like to play i can't get on consoles. Still for fans of this franchise who only have consoles all i can say is save up for a pc(not just for the Civ games obviously).

@doomsday7teen: yeah but what about the portability of the vita, unless you make your own raspberry pie one or something.

I completely agree with your point of view the pc is king when it comes to these games and most others to be fair, but playing nivedia wireless doesn't count, the vita has its own un streamed version.

ha wow i remember civilization on the ps3, i enjoyed it, having played the pc version of the latest version its hard to compare the depth of it isnt it :)

@Eddie Makuch

Civ Revolution 1 was never released on PC. And that's understandable, because it was dumbed down Civ game made with consoles in mind.

What genius came up with the title "Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution 2 Plus"? A little long, wouldn't you say?

The first Civ Rev was the game that got me interested in Strategy Games.

I never understood the decision to put the sequel onto only mobile devices... Oh wait, no I do... Is it money? It's money isn't it? Yep it is money, it's all becoming clear to me now.

@punksterdaddy: Civ Rev 1 was a flop, because console players don't give a flying fvck about strategy games.

@Vojtass: speak for yourself I played the game and it was a small diversion but it would have been good to have a full fledged civ on the new gen consoles.
