Chris Pratt's New Military TV Show The Terminal List Adds Taylor Kitsch To Its Cast
The Terminal List is based on the experiences of a real-life Navy SEAL.
Chris Pratt is headed back to TV with a new military-themed show called The Terminal List based on Jack Carr's novel, and now the program has added another star.
Taylor Kitsch (John Carter, True Detective) has joined the cast of the show, according to Deadline. It's directed by action movie veteran Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Shooter, Olympus Has Fallen). The show is written by Strange Angel's David DiGilio.
The Terminal List will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Pratt will play the character James Reece. On his final deployment in combat, Reece's entire Navy SEAL team was killed in an ambush. He returns home only to learn that the attack was, in fact, part of a conspiracy with connections all the way to the top of the government.
"Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates," reads a line from the book's description.
The Terminal List, and Carr's other books, are based in part on his own experiences as a Navy SEAL. He spent 20 years in the American military, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan as a trained sniper.
The production crew for The Terminal List TV show will have military veterans and their families consult on the project, including the writing. Half of the writers are veterans or are related to veterans.
The Terminal List will be Pratt's first role on TV since Parks and Recreation, which recently returned for a one-off special for charity. There is no word yet as to when The Terminal List will premiere or when production may begin.
This won't be Pratt's first military production in Hollywood, as he also had a small role in the Oscar-winning Zero Dark Thirty as one of the Navy SEALs involved in the raid to kill Osama bin Laden.
