Chris Pratt's Marvel Co-Stars Defend Him After He's Named The Worst Chris

Robert Downey Jr., Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, and James Gunn took to social media in support of Pratt after he fell under scrutiny for his supposed religious and political views.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt recently became the target of a meme on Twitter that now has some of his co-stars coming to his defense. A "one has to go" meme, in which people choose one of four options to be removed from the world, pit four well-known Chrises against each other: Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Chris Pine, and Pratt. After Pratt was deemed the worst of the bunch on social media, some of his co-workers spoke out.

Numerous members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had responded publicly. That includes fellow actors Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana, as well as Guardians director James Gunn.

Downey took to Instagram and told his fans how he felt and didn't hold back. "If you take issue with Chris… I've got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness."

Gunn retweeted Ruffalo's comments and sent out words of support for Pratt, saying he's "the best dude in the world."

Rumors were flying around that Pratt was a Trump supporter after he wasn't featured in the Avengers cast voting campaign for candidate Joe Biden, even though Pratt has been relatively quiet about his own personal political beliefs. However, on his Instagram account, Pratt is following conservative hosts Ben Shapiro, Turning Point USA, as well as PragerU. The latter of those recently was being used in a school in Ohio and has YouTube videos such as "How Bowing to The Mob Makes You A Smaller Person" and "Stop Vilifying Cops."

This is hardly the first time Pratt has come under fire as he attends services at Zoe Church in Los Angeles, which has links to the Hillsong megachurch. That church has been criticized as being ultra-conservative and was described by actress Ellen Page in 2019 as "infamously anti-LGBTQ." Pratt then addressed Page's comments, taking to social media to state, "It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which 'hates a certain group of people' and is 'infamously anti-LGBTQ.' Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone."

Pratt has yet to comment on the latest round of social media criticism.
