Chris Evans Urges People To Vote After Accidentally Revealing Nude Picture

Captain America is, as always, using his power for good rather than evil.

Actor Chris Evans, best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, found himself trending on social media the other day when he inadvertently posted a snap of his camera roll that included a nude photo. Using that leverage for good, he's tweeted out a reminder for Americans to get out and vote in this year's already fraught election.

After the actor accidentally posted the nude photo on his Instagram stories, fans immediately flooded hashtags and searches for his name with unrelated photos in a bid to stop screenshots of the leak from spreading. His co-star Mark Ruffalo also weighed in on the mistake with a "silver lining."

Now, Evans has created his own silver lining, tweeting out a reminder to vote in a tweet that started with the understatement of "now that I have your attention."

While Chris Evans has officially retired from playing Captain America, he's now looking for ways to help America in real life, which has meant getting more involved in politics. Lately he has helped boost campaigns such as Power The Polls, which aims to sign up new poll workers, and Democrat campaign $45 to fire 45, which is… exactly how it sounds.

Evans also recently launched A Starting Point, a bipartisan political site designed to educate Americans on the issues they may not fully understand. He's previously spoken about how his long-running role as Captain America has influenced his activism. "There's no denying that I played a certain character," Evans explained in an interview with People. "And it just so happens to align with part of my nature in terms of being someone who is politically involved and who cares about the wellbeing of people in this country."

When I saw that this was about someone whoring himself for votes (accidentally, my bum), I knew it had to be a liberal - who else will be all about sexual gratification and deviation? Should work great for their ilk, but sadly will not sway anyone with common decency or conservative views.

@Sound_Demon: I said nothing regarding what issues people with a forum should or should not get behind. Nor did I endorse or decry what Ruffalo or Evans said. I meant what I said, not what you said.

I have no desire to engage on this issue beyond that whereas I am not interested in confrontation with my fellow gamers.

Thank you✌

You know, I'm happy to say that I don't have any nude photos of myself to "accidentally" post on Social Media. Somehow, the idea of taking pictures of my junk just seems...Weird. Even if there were folks who actually wanted to see me naked, I was in exceptional good shape, and folks were willing to pay me for it, I still wouldn't do it.

Oh, and if I for some reason (perhaps medical) I ended up taking pictures of my privates and they somehow ended up accidentally posted online, then the last thing I would attempt to do is use it for is to convince people to vote.

Also, do folks really need any further push to vote at this point? They've already made it as easy as applying online for a mail-in ballot and the country is literally on fire right now with a bunch of anarchists promoting social unrest. Anybody who's still holding out isn't going to be convinced by Captain America that they need to vote, especially not when they could have just as easily Registered to vote and applied for a mail-in ballot online in less time than it took them to scour the internet for leaked naked pictures of celebrities.

@Mraou: I’ll give it to him, he only said to vote, which is a message I agree with, instead of being partisan and outright saying vote for Biden (we know he would never say vote for Trump if he values his career).

@Mraou: I mean let's face it, should they really be impartial at this point? Trump has waged war against the media since he started his 2016 campaign. He say's something, Media reports it, he realizes how stupid what he said was, so he attacks the media calling it fake news.

After 4 years of being attacked by Trump and even going as far as being called the "enemy of the people" you can't really expect the media to be impartial. If Trump was any normal person the media would just stop covering him and ignoring everything he does good or bad.

I'm going to reply to my own post since I got quite a few replies from a decent number of people and honestly don't feel like @ing you all.

There are various degrees of impartiality. For the most part the media wasn't fully impartial with bush or any other president. That's true. The degree at which they went to directly attacking the president in a large number of editorials and just general reporting with Trump is very strong. For those who want to treat me like I don't understand that media is generally biased against the right, well you are wrong, I fully understand. It's not as bad as those on the right seem to believe but it does exist. Granted there are reasons for those biases as well but I'm not going to get into them and the reasons are alot more benign then those on the right wish to believe.

This has to do with a large number of factors. The main one I brought up, never before or very rarely has a president openly said something, the media reports it, and then the president denies he ever says it and begins to attack the media for reporting on what he clearly said.

Then you get the point that the president is a bully, plain and simple. If you don't see it you don't follow the news or you are way too supportive of the president to see it. You might approve of it, it's your own decision to or not this isn't a post about trying to get you to vote against him. However when one personally attacks a large number of people from news outlets to normal everyday people to children, he can expect people to fight back. In this case the media is joining in.

Finally the president lies a lot. Sure most presidents lie a bit but this president has a huge problem with the truth. So when the president says something the media has a responsibility to make sure that what he says is the truth. Which causes a large delay in reporting. A lot of times even when he does something good the media still has to sort through all the lies and report on those as well. There's even been a number of cases where he says a specific politician said something good to him and then the politician goes on the record and says it's never happened. The point being it's hard to report on anything good the president supposedly did when you need to do a lot of fact checking to ensure the accuracy of the statement. We should be able to trust the words of our president but it's easily provable he lies, A LOT.

I could find a large number of other reasons for why the media is more biased against this president, but I'd rather this not turn into a book.

@nedrith: While I don’t agree with everything the president says, he has a pretty good reason to be upset with the media over the past few years.

Just taking today as example, at one point during the signing of the Abraham Accords CNN seemed to be more concerned about the lack of social distancing than they were about the positive effect it could have on the Middle East.

@teshammutna: There are plenty of "Conservative biased" news sources around, outside of Fox. They're definitely not as big as Fox, but they feature sharper insight and more relevant topics.

Same goes for "Liberal biased" new sources, as there are numerous independent leftist websites with compelling commentary and knowledgeable authors.

In both cases, there are professors, scientists, and activists providing direct content -- instead of being filtered through money-driven corporate mouthpieces.

Mainstream news, whether Conservative or Liberal, is the journalistic equivalent of junk food. It is good to have other options.

@proxima1025: man, they're inside. They took people from streets in unmarked vans! have you heard about the "gloriosos Falcon verdes" of Argentina? they took people like that in those cars too, or outright shoot them on street after speeding around their planned murders. It was decades ago, thank god. Don't let that escalate any further, vote any president that doesn't support this shady practices, because facism only escalates.
