Chessmaster 8000 Now Available

The latest version of the popular chess simulation offers a revamped engine and new options.

The Learning Company announced today that Chessmaster 8000 is now available in stores. Chessmaster 8000 features an improved chess engine that lets you play against the computer up to the grand master level. In addition, there are a few new modes, such as "match the monster," where you can learn different techniques and strategies from chess author and teacher Bruce Pandolfini. You can also participate in an endgame course with examples from International Master John Waitzkin's tournaments. The game also includes expert analysis of more than 100 new real-world games, including grand master showdowns from some of the top tournaments in 1999 and 2000.
