A new poster for the upcoming Resident Evil movie has been released. Actor Chad Rook, who plays Richard Aiken in the upcoming video game adaptation, released the poster on Twitter.

He said, "Are you ready?" The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on September 3. It's worth noting that this image was not shared by any official Resident Evil or film studio channels. But it's a striking poster that certainly and successfully captures an ominous feeling.

Via ComicBook, the rest of the cast for the Resident Evil movie includes Kaya Scodelario (Claire Redfield,) Robbie Amell, (Chris Redfield), Hannah John-Kamen (Jill Valentine), Avan Jogia (Leon S. Kennedy), Tom Hopper (Albert Wesker), and Neal McDonough (William Birkin).

Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) wrote and directed the movie. Filming wrapped up at the end of December.

The Resident Evil movie isn't the only adaptation of Capcom's iconic horror series that's currently in the works. Netflix has licensed two shows based on the franchise, with one set to be a live action spin-off around two new characters in the Wesker family living in a place called New Racoon City, and the other an animated series about Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The animated show, Infinite Darkness, is expected in 2021.
