In the lead up to releasing new cosmetic items for Overwatch , Blizzard has been teasing some of the skins that will be available from January 23. The latest of these pre-release previews is the Kabuki Hanzo legendary skin, which gives the archer a Kumadori makeover and a sweet futuristic-looking bow.

Prior to showing off the Kabuki Hanzo skin, Blizzard revealed a Capoeira Lucio outfit, which gives a casual look to everyone's favourite healing DJ, and Asp Pharrah, which outfits the rocket-queen with a suit that reflects her Egyptian ancestry.

Blizzard has said it plans to continue revealing new items each day until the update arrives on Tuesday, January 23. Along with the new cosmetics being released, the update will also likely make changes to loot boxes, as previously indicated by game director Jeff Kaplan teased. Standard loot boxes have a "ton of new content" added to them, so you'll be able to unlock things at your leisure, rather than through time-limited event loot boxes.

In addition to the new cosmetics, Blizzard previously confirmed that Blizzardworld, the next big map for Overwatch, will arrive on January 23.

Finally, the Lunar New Year event, the Year of the Dog, is also coming in the near future. This year will also see the return of the Uprising event with some changes, and new characters are also on the way, although no time table was set for when we might see those.

I can't wait! I'm probably still going to play it for a day or two and then give it up... again.

Even if I like this game (not a huge fanatic or anything), man, it's so laughable how blizzard announces simple reskins as if they are "huge", "so much content, content, content!", lmao They are masters of presentation, a stupid reskin that can be made by any novice modder in a matter or days (if he has the tools), blizzard announces it as if it is such a impactful content. Give me a break, balance the goddamn game and release new maps. That is real content, not reskins, fucking spray tags, emotes, etc... It's like the blizzard fanbase have the collective mental age of 7

@gleencross: You do have a point, but the reskins have a high level of detail to them. That's something a novice modder can't do. Besides, all of the new content is free, no matter what.

@kingdomkey24: There is just no high level of detail to them. Please rethink.

@kingdomkey24: High level of detail? C'mon dude, lol Did you ever played any Bethesda game? The retexture/modeling that some modders can do it's really impressive. And it's usually one person doing everything. When you have an entire team of artists with the tools to design any clothing, 1 reskin means absolutely nothing. Maybe for players who are not accustomed with heavy modding, they look at the visual "content" of overwatch and they get impressed by it. Blizzard are masters of presentation, the best in the industry, they present you a piece of worthless rock and make it look like gold. The entire overwatch game is a huge presentation scheme. This game has almost no content, it's the same models running around the same maps over and over. No single player, if you want to watch videos depicting character development, even for something simple like this, you have to look around in the internet and the battle.net thing. The result? A tidal wave of Blizzard merchandise right at your face. On a marketing standpoint, overwatch is a genius game. But for people who get impressed by cheap tricks, well, I can only feel sorry for them.

@gleencross: They're constantly releasing new content - for free. Maps, heroes, "balancing the goddamn game" as you put it by adjusting characters and map exploits. Don't really know what you're on about to be honest. You just sound... wait for it... entitled.

@Grim_Jackal: "Balancing the game" = nerfing favorite characters for no reason. This is why I haven't played this game in I don't know how long. Every time you get used to a character and his/her nuances, Blizzard "rebalances" the game to screw everything up.

@Grim_Jackal: "for free", don't be childish. You act like Blizzard is doing a favor for it's consumers. The game itself is crude, there's no single player mode, not a great variety of maps and characters. When they try to balance the game, they never achieve true synergy (like old fighting games, KOF 2002 is a example of a perfect balanced competitive game). Just look what they did with Mercy, lol And guess what is the theme of the new map? Yes, Blizzard merchandise (again and again). Like I said, the fanbase has the collective mental age of 7. Blizzard gives little candies and colored balloons, the fanbase gets excited, lol Overwatch is nothing more than a huge marketing stunt and you people gets impressed with simplistic stuff.

@gleencross: The game is fun no doubt but I haven't played this since it came out in 2016. I can only play the same maps/game modes for a few weeks then I get bored and play something else.

@gamingdevil800: I understand that pretty well. I only bought overwatch in the blackfriday promotion. I would never pay full price for a crude multiplayer-only game. Played A LOT, almost 2 months having daily matches, 30~45 minutes. But after the initial excitement with the game, it started to get repetitive, the friend who indicated the game for me barely played anymore, lol The community is toxic and childish, the painfully obvious marketing, etc.. It got repetitive. I didn't played a match in what... 1 month? That's the double edge thing about multiplayer focused game. You have "content" if the community and the balance are right, hours of replaying the same stuff. But when one of the two aspects starts to break apart, the game is killed right there because there's no more content.
