With Captain America: Civil War hitting US cinemas this weekend and already on release in many other countries, the next big superhero release will be X-Men: Apocalypse. Two new promos have been released--the first is a TV spot, while the second is a short "power piece" focusing the character of Angel. Watch them below:

In addition, distributor Fox have released a new batch of imagery from the movie. Check out the gallery below:

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer, who made the first two movies in the series and returned for 2014's hugely successful Days of Future Past. It arrives on May 27, 2016, and stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne.

In related news, some possible information has emerged about The New Mutants, one of the X-Men spinoff movies currently in development. Director Josh Boone has posted a series of images on Instagram, revealing a variety of characters from the comic book, including Warlock, Mirage, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Magik

While Boone or Fox are yet to confirm any further information about the film, it does suggest that these could be the characters that will appear.

Last month, X-Men producer Simon Kinberg provided an update on The New Mutants. "Josh and his writing partner are working on the script," he told IGN. "They're doing a really nice job of it. It has its own unique, original voice... more of a YA [Young Adult] vibe to it."
