Capcom has released new gameplay videos and more comparison images for the upcoming Resident Evil remake. The game, a high-definition version of 2002's Resident Evil REmake for GameCube (which itself is a remake of the 1996 original), was announced in August and is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC in early 2015.

The videos show off characters Chris Redfield (above) and Jill Valentine (below), highlighting the improved visuals (1080p on Xbox One and PS4) and other tweaks that players can expect from the new versions.

As for the comparison images, you can see those below. Be sure to use the slider to see how the game looked then and now. After you're done looking at those images, click here for even more comparison shots.

The Resident Evil series is one of the biggest and most well-known franchises in gaming; it has sold more than 61 million units to date across 92 different games. A seventh installment in the main series--Resident Evil 7--is rumored to be in the works. Meanwhile, spinoff Resident Evil Revelations 2 is also in development and will be released episodically.
