Cheaters to be slain by Athena Sword

Ubisoft's Raven Shield expansion to quash multiplayer hacking and cheating with Punkbuster.

Comments

Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword, a Raven Shield expansion developed by Ubisoft Milan and due to retailers later this month, is packing a special punch.

Shipping with the game is software by Punkbuster that is intended to counter cheating in the game's online multiplayer component.

Punkbuster software is a client-server product that detects cheats and hacks on end-user systems. Further, Punkbuster reports the use of cheats and hacks to server administrators, which can potentially result in actions taken against violators, including the revocation of player privileges. For security reasons, the cheats Punkbuster is targeting have not been announced.

Punkbuster for Athena Sword is intended to be updated as new cheats and hacks present themselves.
