Championship Manager 4 for 2003

Eidos and Sports Interactive announce that the next installment of the highly successful Championship Manager series of soccer management games will be released in Europe early next year.

Comments

Eidos and Sports Interactive have today announced that Championship Manager 4, which they had initially hoped would be in stores in time for Christmas, is now scheduled for release in February 2003. The announcement comes on the same day that Eidos 2895341announced a similar release date for Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, which was originally due out next month.

"We're delighted to be able to end the months of speculation," said Miles Jacobson, managing director at Sports Interactive. "We would like to make it clear that although we had been hoping for the game to be released this year, we had to make the choice of cutting out a number of features or giving players the best game possible. We chose the latter."

Fans of the Championship Manager series will obviously be disappointed with today's announcement, but as we 2882562reported earlier this month, a Championship Manager 4 demo and an update patch for Championship Manager: Season: 01/02 are both going to be made available for download later this week.

A North American release date for Championship Manager 4 has not been confirmed at the time of writing. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
