When Koei and Tecmo merged in 2009, the two publishers' horse racing sims mated along with them. Now the offspring from the union of G1 Jockey and Gallop Racer is ready to race, as Tecmo Koei today announced an October 25 North American release date for Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey and Gallop Racer for the Xbox 360 and Wii.

Champion Jockey challenges players to raise and race their own thoroughbreds in both simulation- and arcade-style modes. The game features 19 different tracks, as well as four-player online action and a two-player split-screen mode. An Xbox 360 version of the game featuring Kinect support is also in development, although Tecmo Koei offered no release information for it.

The Move-compatible PlayStation 3 version of Champion Jockey will sell for $50, while the Wii edition has been set at $40. For more on Champion Jockey, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
