Mean Girl Lacey Chabert is to be the voice behind Princess Elise in the first next-gen instalment in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Mississippi-born Chabert is best known for her role as Claudia Salinger in the TV show Party of Five and also starred in The Brooke Ellison Story and Mean Girls. Chabert has been playing Sonic games since she was 9 years old and said she was "thrilled" at nabbing the part. The game will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles in time for the Christmas gift-giving frenzy. This is the second recent Sega game to feature Hollywood voice talent--gritty underworld action adventure Yakuza featured the likes of Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars), Rachael Leigh Cook, and Eliza Dushku.
