Celebs and manufacturers drive L.A. Rush

Midway's street racer lands Bill Bellamy and Orlando Jones for voices, licensed cars and aftermarket parts for rides.

Midway rolled out the red carpet today by announcing additional celebrity talent to be featured in L.A. Rush. The company previously revealed that it would be partnering with MTV to comarket the game, and it also disclosed that the cast from MTV's car fetish show Pimp My Ride would be appearing in the racer.

Voicing the main character's rival, Lidell Ray, will be actor-comedian Bill Bellamy, a former MTV veejay who appeared in the Oliver Stone movie Any Given Sunday and the TV show Fastlane. Orlando "Make Seven... Up Yours" Jones, who starred in Drumline and Biker Boyz, will voice Ty Malix, the protagonist's partner.

Being featured in games is nothing new to the two actors. Bellamy recently played Marcus Hill in Midway's Narc, and Jones played one of Halo 2's space marines.

Rapper Twista will appear in L.A. Rush as a street racer who drives for Bellamy's character. Twista will also be featured on the game's soundtrack, which includes Lil' Kim and DJ Rap.

Midway also rolled out details on the game's licensed cars, in addition to releasing a list of aftermarket equipment manufacturers. The full list is below.
