With Tekken 7 only a few weeks away from release, Bandai Namco wants to get fans caught up on the twists and turns of the series' story with a humorous new 8-bit video.

The publisher has partnered with Dutton Films to create an 8-Bit Cinema recap of the entire Tekken series. The first installment, which you can watch above, covers the story from the original Tekken, which released for PS1 back in 1994, through to 1998's Tekken 3.

Now Playing: The History Of Tekken In 8-Bit

Tekken 7 is the first new title in the series since 2011's Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Recently, there was a bit of controversy surrounding the game when two players were accused of collusion and banned from an upcoming Tekken 7 tournament.

Tekken 7 is already available in arcades and launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 2 (though it sadly won't include the series' boxing kangaroo, Roger). Sony is offering PS4 Pro and Slim bundles with a copy of the title in Europe, though no such bundles have been announced for the US. We recently had a chance to chat with the series producer Katsuhiro Harada about a number of topics, including guest characters and a possible Nintendo Switch version.
