Konami has announced Castlevania Requiem, a new bundle that brings two of the best entries in the series to PlayStation 4. Releasing exclusively for Sony's console on October 26, Castlevania Requiem will have Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood in one package. In Europe, the bundle will be available for €19.99, and Konami has said pricing details in other territories will be revealed soon.

"Both games are the originals emulated for the PlayStation 4, with several updates that take advantage of the new hardware," Sony says on the PlayStation Blog. "This includes 4K/1080p upscaling, multiple high resolution backgrounds, different rendering options such as smoothing and full Trophy support." Requiem will also utilize the DualShock 4's analogue stick for movement and the speaker to play sounds when you pick up an item.

Symphony of the Night was released in 1999 for the original PlayStation and received widespread critical acclaim, becoming incredibly influential on game design, with modern titles such as Dead Cells and Hollow Knight drawing heavily from it. Rondo of Blood, meanwhile, was released for the PC Engine CD in 1993 and is also considered a standout title in the series and genre, as well as one of the best PC Engine games.

October 26 is going to be a pretty packed day for Castlevania fan as, along with the launch of Castlevania Requiem, Netflix will release Season 2 of the animated Castlevania series on that day. While the first season was directed by Adi Shanker, the second will be helmed by Sam Deets, the character designer from the first season. Shankar, however, is still an executive producer.

The series was originally penned by acclaimed comic book writer Warren Ellis as a movie script, but was adapted into a series for Netflix after the film project failed to take off. The series follows Trevor Belmont, the last survivor of the banished monster-hunting Belmont family, who is charged with stopping Vlad Dracula Tepes. In the first season, Dracula vowed revenge on humankind after his wife was suspected of being a witch and murdered. Season 2 continues to follow Trevor, and a few other cohorts, as they attempt to fight back against the vengeful vampire lord. You can watch a trailer for Netflix's Castlevania Season 2 here.
