Capcom has today announced an agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe that will allow it to publish a localized version of The Getaway in Japan. No details concerning possible release dates or gameplay alterations have been released at this time, but today's news follows a similar announcement made in June that will see Japanese gamers getting their hands on Grand Theft Auto III for the first time this fall.

The Getaway is a gangster-themed action adventure game set in modern-day London. The game features third-person shoot-outs and car chases and is notable not only for its accurate re-creation of a large area of London, but also for the fact that the screen doesn't feature a single onscreen indicator for time limits, energy, ammunition. and the like.
