Capcom Home Arcade Mini-Console Is A Gigantic Arcade Stick Loaded With Games
Get your quarters ready.
Capcom's arcade library is getting a tribute in the form of a mini-console chock full of classic games. The Capcom Home Arcade is a plug-and-play system built into an arcade stick shaped like the Capcom logo, and it comes loaded with coin-op games from the '80s and '90s--particularly the fighters and beat-em-ups Capcom was known for. It's being manufactured by Koch Media with licensing from Capcom.
The lineup listed on the official site includes 1944: The Loop Master, Alien vs Predator, Armored Warriors, Capcom Sports Club, Captain Commando, Cyberbots, Darkstalkers, Eco Warriors, Final Fight, Ghouls and Ghosts, Giga Wing, Mega Man: The Power Battle, ProGear, Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting, Strider, and Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo.
The stick measures roughly 22x74x11cm, so it's a sizable piece of hardware. Each of the games are produced from original CPS1 and CPS2 ROMs, and FB Alpha has been tapped to provide the emulation. It also includes wifi so that you can connect to a global leaderboard to upload your scores. The Capcom Home Arcade is coming on October 25, 2019.
A US price hasn't been listed yet, but the Capcom Europe store lists it for 230 euro. That converts to about $260 USD, so you can probably expect it to be in that range. That's about 1,000 quarters, so start saving and checking under couch cushions now.
