GameSpot News learned that Nintendo plans to create another Mario sports title for the N64, this time centering on tennis. Mario Tennis 64 is being developed by Camelot, whose previous work includes Mario Golf 64 for the N64 and Hot Shots Golf for the PlayStation. The game will feature all of the main characters from the Mario universe, including a new character named Waluigi ("Waru" means bad in Japanese). As Wario was to Mario, Waluigi is the evil counterpart to Luigi.

Mario Tennis 64 for the Nintendo 64 is scheduled for a July 21 release in Japan at a price of 6800yen (about US$64). The game will also be Transfer Pak compatible, although the details of how it will come into play are not yet known. Nintendo has not announced a US release date.
