Call of Duty: WWII is launching on November 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The release date was revealed alongside a full trailer during a worldwide reveal livestream. This confirms details that leaked earlier this week.

No Caption Provided

This year's entry in the shooter franchise follows the US 1st Infantry Division as they fight their way through the European theater of the war. Missions include the D-Day invasion of Normandy and Battle of the Bulge.

Although you primarily play as the young, inexperienced Private Daniels in the single-player, there will also be a mission that casts you as a woman fighting in the French resistance.

A full multiplayer reveal is slated for E3 in June, but for now we know just a few details. As for co-op, little was shared, but it will apparently take the form of "a new and original story" featuring zombies.

Also from the leaks, Activision confirmed that a beta will be available ahead of launch, but there isn't a date yet. Finally, Transformers actor Josh Duhamel is confirmed to appear in Call of Duty: WWII as Technical Sergeant William Pierson, a 34-year-old from Oklahoma.

The Pro Edition that surfaced in leaks will be exclusive to GameStop, at least in the US, and will cost $100. It comes with the game, a steelbook case, the season pass, and "additional bonus content."

This game looks awesome, but am I the only one that was kind of hoping it was based on the paratroopers instead of army?

@Fantomass: I suspect that there will be some black guys in this game. It's a AAA release in 2017.

@Fantomass: people with your mindset are a waste of oxygen that more productive people in society could be breathing in.

Avatar image for Fantomass
Fantomass

@tarheelsforever: wtf does historical accuracy has to do with being productive? It's not about me or you. If you can't use logic, then perhaps your stupid brain is a waste, grow some balls kid

Avatar image for tarheelsforever

@Fantomass: i wouldnt want to make this a conversation about your brain power vs my brain power. im very confident you will lose every time. btw, take that thong off and quit crying little girl.

Avatar image for Fantomass
Fantomass

@tarheelsforever: Haha you're confident, I'm sure of it. Too bad confidence is nothing but liquor for a fool (yes you). You're talking to a masters engineer here, so unless you're a major in science, I suggest you to sit down and stfu about brain power, son. And in the end you're just a butthurt guy of color that can't digest the fact there were next to none black guys in WW1 and WW2 in Europe battles. Get over it.

Avatar image for tarheelsforever
tarheelsforever

@Fantomass: hahaha dummy. im actually not a guy of color. you ASSumed i was a guy of color because i despise racism of any form. that just shows your ignorance, and the limitations of your brain. also, since you obviously dont know, your occupation, or the amount of education you have, does not automatically mean you have a higher IQ than anyone else. i would say you have to be reasonably intelligent to be a "masters engineer" as you say, but it means more than anything that you simply have much more ambition than most other people, and that you completed the required education to acquire such a job. dont forget, there are many people out there who have never even desired to go through a massive amount of higher education, like me, that still have a very high IQ, like me. more education may mean more knowledge, but more education doesnt make you any smarter. youre either born with a high IQ or youre not. when i was in school, i was actually in "AG" class, which stands for academically gifted, throughout my tenure. however, unlike you apparently feel, i dont think because i may be smarter than some random person, that i am in any way "superior" to any random person. we are all equally human and equally important in this world. things like job title or social status mean NOTHING to me. dont flatter yourself because of your "job" junior.

Avatar image for Fantomass
Fantomass

@tarheelsforever: oh god, for a person with high IQ, you seem to bring no valid sense to the discussion, just some blabbering. At no point I ever said one race is superior. I just pointed out how all games and movies these days feel the urge to promote PC culture, which does more harm then good. You cant just rewrite history, its just wrong. BF1 has black guys in german forces, are you kidding me... You on the other hand say you believe all people are equally important, but at the same time some should stop breathing to leave More oxygen for your IQ (which you dont use anyway). So hypocrite much? Good Day and I wish you well.

Avatar image for tarheelsforever
tarheelsforever

@Fantomass: just because there were very few people of color in these wars doesnt mean you have to so openly and publicly say "finally a game with no black guys in it." what a very ignorant thing to say. why would someone even say that?

also, youre the one that ASSumed i am a person of color just because i called out your ignorant comments. and good day to you too sir.

I think Call of Duty should make WW2 in perspective of Germans, French or even Russian army all-out; showing their strengths and struggle. Get the approval from German/French/Russia upon creating the game. That would be great & something refreshing altogether. It's pretty boring show the 'supremacy' of American army from day 1 until now.

Next.

Avatar image for deactivated-590d81975da92

@solatron: The French were run over in a few days as they had an army fit for WWI, wouldn't make much of game play losing no matter what you do, would it? The Russians and Germans we saw in the original CoD. And why would a game producer have to ask countries for permissions to make games?

Avatar image for solatron
solatron

@duckofdeath: the permission obtained is to ensure they get the 'right' / 'realistic' history just like how the American developers did for any WW2-related games from American perspectives.

Yeah true, the storyline will lead to the end of those armies but at least it shows some struggle from other nations (e.g. Germans, Russians, etc)

Avatar image for muzza93
muzza93

@solatron: that would be a really fresh experience. Could play as a Nazi soldier being ordered to do unspeakable things and witnessing atrocities but no way to back out. They would be brave to do it but if done right could be fantastic.

Avatar image for Karmazyn
Karmazyn

@solatron: this would be retarded. I would never touch a game when main thing would be playing as wermacht soldier. This would be glorifying germans who murdered lots of innocent people during their murderous run through Europe. I dont mind playing as axis in mp but to dedicate the whole game for this scum? No way man. Nazis and german soldiers place isnin games like wolfenstein as cannon fodder.

Avatar image for solatron
solatron

@Karmazyn: why not? it would be interesting to understand their struggle even we know some of their evil deeds. playing them is not glorifying them in any manner. Same goes for the rest of us, we play COD, etc we never glorify american armies at all.

American armies might also did unspeakable things (killing innocents) which the world did not know. because often american armies are portrayed as the 'only good guys' in this world, thanks to the huge established american media.

Avatar image for tarheelsforever
tarheelsforever

@solatron: bottom line is SHG is an American developer. if you dont like the fact that theyre making the game from an American perspective then you have every right not to buy it. maybe some non American developer should step up and make a quality WW2 shooter from a different perspective, then you can play that instead.

Avatar image for solatron
solatron

@tarheelsforever: bottom line is American supremacy is overrated, that is all. SGH can explore something new. Btw, try avoid from having 'if i don't like, i have the right not to buy it' kind of mentality.

Avatar image for tarheelsforever
tarheelsforever

@solatron: ill have the type of mentality i wish to have, thank you very much. i just get tired of so many people complaining about every little thing they disagree with. im simply saying that if you dont like something, let your wallet do the talking. too many tears have already been shed.

Avatar image for muzza93

@Karmazyn: as if they would glorify it.

Avatar image for cherub1000
Cherub1000

@Karmazyn: while I can see your point, there was a large contingent of the German army that plotted to kill Hitler and seek refuge with the Allied forces (my history is pretty bad, apologies for lack of accuracy). It would be a big change if a new IP followed a German officer in that regard.

Finally back to WW2 instead of all the modern day war that COD been doing.

Avatar image for nelson85

@IceAxe18: then you'll cry and complain like people did last gen when COD was making WW games. People wanted modern they got it and cried. Wanted future they got it and cried.

Avatar image for Mogan

@nelson85: I'd guess the people wanting and the people crying are generally different groups. There's a whole lot of CoD fans; I can't imagine they all want the same stuff.

Avatar image for ChrisAnetkaC

@Mogan: Don't worry about it, man. Just buy whatever Activision throws at you, kick back and pull the trigger. Let them do the thinking, you just enjoy the killing.

Avatar image for ChrisAnetkaC
ChrisAnetkaC

@Mogan: Since "World at War" I only get them second-hand. I found that one simply repulsive so I have no intention of showing Activision any support.

Avatar image for deactivated-590d81975da92

@ChrisAnetkaC: Yeah, poor old Nazis, whatever did they do to deserve the harsh treatment?

Avatar image for deactivated-590d81975da92

@ChrisAnetkaC: Why did the allies turn to carpet bombing German cities? Yes, it's terrible, but, if you go back school and read up on what the Nazi's did during that war, you might find an answer.

I know you're just one of the pathetic neo nazis, trying to justify your broken perception of reality. Guess what, I couldn't care less.
Sorry, that's not PC of me. I meant to call you alt-right.

People should stop making themselves look silly and quit talking about how they aren't going to buy the game or they are so tired of the CoD franchise. You know they are going to buy the game, even if its at a discounted price (I do that anyway, even if the game is good).

The only problem I have with this game is that its freaking ww2 all over again. Its such an overdone war, and to many ww2 video games already exist for it. Need more ww3 games with various plots I think. Much more imagination is involved at least.
