Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Update Adds New Gunfight Tournament Mode
Take part in a new Modern Warfare challenge right now.
Infinity Ward is expanding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's intense 2v2 Gunfight mode. With the November 25 update, the developer introduced a new single-elimination tournament variant for Gunfight where 16 teams (32 players in all) compete across eight rounds until one team claims victory.
This is the same Gunfight mode you already know--where players have one life and spawn with a random loadout. Teams that win advance to the next round (and earn XP and other rewards) while the losers go back to the lobby with nothing. The team that wins the entire tournament earns a "high-tier" cosmetic reward in addition to an allotment of XP.
Should your team perform well enough to win a round, you'll enter a lobby to await the next match. Infinity Ward said in a blog post that players should be patient as wait times can vary as other teams finish their matches.
Infinity Ward's blog post about Gunfight Tournament has loads more details and important things to know like tips and strategies--go read it here.
The new Gunfight Tournament mode is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but it is available in beta on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for a limited time.
