Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Weapons - Best Loadouts

Here are some recommended loadouts to try in your next match of Modern Warfare 2, including the best guns and attachments.

Comments

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 boasts a ton of weapons and attachments to gear up with, and sometimes customizing the most optimal weapon loadout in the Gunsmith can be a bit overwhelming. Here we recommend some of the best weapon builds for Season 3.

Modern Warfare 2's tuning feature adds the ability to fine tune attachments to improve certain weapon stats, such as recoil control, bullet velocity, aim-down-sight speed, and more. This is done by adjusting two sliders toward one stat benefit or the other.

It's important to note that every adjustment has tradeoffs, but tuning attachments like muzzles and barrels can be beneficial. For our recommended loadouts, we do include a few attachments worth fine-tuning for each build.

Kastov 762

A strong assault rifle choice for Season 3 is the Kastov 762, especially for mid- to long-range engagements. There is a bit of recoil to manage, but the recommended attachments will help you lower the recoil and boost the ammo count.

  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Rear Grip: Demo X2 Grip
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56

For further tuning, you can tune the muzzle with the left slider favoring aim down sight speed at -0.45, while the bottom slider is adjusted to +0.24 towards gun kick control.

For the optic, tune the left slider to -1.26 towards aim down sight speed, while moving the bottom slider to -2.25 to max out far.

Adjust the rear grip by tuning the left slider to +0.52 towards recoil steadiness, and move the bottom slider to +0.28 towards aiming idle stability.

For the ammunition, adjust the left slider to +0.32 towards damage range, while moving the bottom slider to +4.65 towards bullet velocity.

Tune the underbarrel by moving the left slider to +0.21 towards recoil stabilization, and adjust the bottom slider to -0.22 towards aim walking speed.

STB 556

Another solid submachine gun choice for Season 3 is the PDSW, which boasts a fast time-to-kill and great mobility. It does have a bit more recoil than the MX9, but the Lockshot KT85 barrel and tuning recommendations will help manage the kick.

Season 3's Cronen Squall is a powerful battle rifle, especially for use on Ground War maps, but it does pack quite a kick. This build offers a nice two-shot kill even at longer ranges, but you'll want to set the gun to single-fire to make it most efficient. The Cronen Squall can be viable in auto-fire mode, but you'll be sacrificing a fair amount of recoil control, damage, and range.

Season 3's new FJX Imperium is the rebranded version of the original Modern Warfare 2's Intervention sniper rifle, and this is also a powerful choice for sniping. This build focuses more on long-range sniping, but for faster and more aggressive sniping, you can swap out the 1MW Quick Fire Laser for the VLK LZR Laser for faster sprint to fire, and swap the CP60 Grip for the Skull Grip for faster mobility.
