The offer will be running at "participating retailers" in the US, says Activision. UK customers will have to preorder from GAME, while customers in Ireland interested in getting the map will need to head to GameStop.

Free Fall takes place on a skyscraper that is collapsing during the match, with the layout of the close-quarters map shifting as the match progresses. Ghosts developer Infinity Ward is hoping this element of the game, which it calls "dynamic map events," will keep people interested in Call of Duty's multiplayer this year.

"With every drop, shock waves cause further destruction, altering paths and chokepoints and causing the map to change in real time," says Activision.

A toppling skyscraper was also one of the key elements of DICE's recent multiplayer reveal for rival shooter Battlefield 4.

Last year Activision and Treyarch offered Nuketown 2025 as a preorder bonus for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and caused upset with some users after the map was removed from the game's playlists shortly after launch.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released for current-gen platforms on November 5. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will also be released this year.
