Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC coming first to Xbox One

New next-gen Call of Duty engine will still run in 60fps, says Activision.

Activision has confirmed Call of Duty: Ghosts for Microsoft's next-gen Xbox One, adding that the DLC for this year's Call of Duty title will launch first on the new console.

Call of Duty: Ghosts features new characters and a new storyline, set a decade after America has been hobbled by a currently unnamed superpower.

Traffic and Syriana writer Stephen Gaghan is penning the script for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The game features a new engine and new technology, although the series' use of 60fps will still persist.

Multiplayer maps will feature dynamic elements, such as earthquakes and floods. Player actions will reportedly affect the outcomes of these events. The game's multiplayer mode will also feature a detailed character customisation system, according to Activision.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is being developed by Infinity Ward and will be released on November 5.

Here we go again for the millions of times they completed the game and giving us the incomplete copy. When you buy it they want you to think that it's the complete game but it's really not. They want you to think it is extra content but is not. If any game comes out like disc one is the game and disk two is the DLC when they re-release any game like that it's worth it. The older game systems on every games that came out everything is already on the disk and they do it right. If you want to buy any DLC on any game go ahead but really think about it.

@Pr0ving4Gr0undz because its the closest thing they have to an console exclusive. The Gears of War games are done, Halo games have a longer development time and MS is willing to wait for that. When MS and Activision started back in 2010 (I think) with all COD DLC coming to XBL first for 3 or 4 years both companies were happy since MS knows it means continued XBL subs since people mostly buy COD for the multiplayer and Activision gets repeat business since they now have 3 developers working on COD games. And as for PS and PC gamers Activision doesn't seem to care because they know that if people really want the DLC they wait or buy an xbox. Quite simply; greed and short term thinking is Activision's MO for COD.

Console gaming is fucked. How I long for the days of the 90s and early to mid 00s. The Xbox One requires an internet connection and blocks used games basically. PS4... who knows, really? Day one DLC is becoming really annoying. Actually, the entire premise of DLC is getting out of hand in all too many cases. Too much abuse going on. Constant dumbing down of games. Hand holding and what not. Games with extremely high budgets that sell 5 million + copies are not considered successful. Stupid gimmicks. Cameras that watch your every single fucking move. Fucking hell... what happened?

This looks fantastic for a Call of Duty game, it had its moments in a couple pretty shots, but no where near what we should expect from a next gen game. Every texture in the game is flat and looks lifeless, also the water looks pathetic with it's incredibly flat textures instead of proper rendered water. I like CoD as much as the next guy, but this looked awful.
