The next seasonal refresh for Black Ops Cold War is nearly here--and it adds a lot of new content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's anticipated Season 2 update is right around the corner, launching February 25, and now Activision has provided an in-depth rundown of what to expect. These details were shared on Activision's website, and we've collected the highlights.

New Operators

Four new Operators are coming to Black Ops Cold War in Season 2, starting with Naga, who will be available during the launch week (February 25-March 3), presumably as an instant unlock through the Battle Pass. Naga, whose real name is Kapano "Naga" Vang, is a former warlord who made their riches from selling drugs and weapons. Naga is also playable in Warzone.

The following Operators, who are also playable in Warzone, will release at unspecified points during Season 2:

  • Maxis -- Samantha Maxis from the Zombies campaign comes to multiplayer for the first time in franchise history.
  • Wolf -- Terrell Wolf hails from the bayous of Louisiana and joined the service on his 18th birthday.
  • Rivas -- Nicaraguan soldier Karla Rivas was part of the drug wars in her home country and is known for using guerriilla tactics.

These three will be available to buy through store bundles, but Treyarch didn't say how you can unlock Naga. Normally one Operator is available to unlock immediately with the Battle Pass, but this wasn't confirmed this time for Naga. Treyarch said it will announce more details about the Season 2 Battle Pass on February 23. Click through the images in the gallery below to see the other new operators.

New Weapons

A total of six new weapons are coming to Black Ops Cold War in Season 2, including the FARA 83 assault rifle, the LC10 SMG, the machete, the E-Tool, the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, and the ZRG 20mm sniper. The machete, E-Tool, R1 Shadowhunter, and ZRG 20mm can be unlocked for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone by completing a related challenge or by purchasing the bundle outright when it comes to the in-game store.

You can get the FARA 83 at Tier 15 of the battle pass, while the MC10 SMG is unlocked at Tier 31. Click through the images in the gallery below to see each of the new weapons up close.

New Maps

Four new multiplayer maps for Black Ops Cold War are coming in Season 2 as well, including the 6v6 Apocalypse map that is releasing during launch week. The map is set in Laos and is described as a small-to-medium sized map that's best for people who like to play aggressively.

Coming later in season 2 is the Golova map that's set in a Russian village in the Ural plains. This is a larger map made for multi-team game modes.

Another new map is Mansion, which is a 2v2 and 3v3 map set in Havana, Cuba. If it looks familiar, that's because Mansion is pulled from Black Ops Cold War's "End of the Line" campaign mission.

The fourth new map for Black Ops Cold War multiplayer is Miami Strike. A 6v6 map, Miami Strike is set in South Beach district and it will also feel familiar, as Treyarch says it's a nighttime version of the Miami map.

New Modes

Multiple new modes are headed to Black Ops Cold War multiplayer in Season 2, including a free-for-all version of Gun Game, which arrives during launch week. By now you probably know how Gun Game works--you start with a pistol and move up to better weapons with each kill. If you're killed by a melee attack or finishing move, however, you go back to square one.

Another new mode is Stockpile, a 6v6 mode that effectively mashes up Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint, where players must take down enemies and collect their dog tags. The difference is you don't get any points until the dog tags are delivered to sites that move throughout the map.

Hardpoint Multi-Team is also coming to Black Ops Cold War. This mode is played on the biggest maps in the game and features 10 teams of four doing battle to hold Hardpoints that move every two minutes.

Extras

Season 2 is also delivering various other extras, including the Death Machine Scorstreak that first appeared in the original Black Ops. This gives you a minigun that is powerful enough to take down vehicles, as well as enemies. Death Machine is also coming to the new Zombies mode, Outbreak, while it will also be playable on the Firebase Z and Die Maschine maps.

A new vehicle, the Sedan, will release during Season 2 as well. The car is big enough for four people and it's supported in the new Operators mode for Zombies. It sounds like a good way to get places fast and it can serve as a machine of death as well.

A Light Truck is also coming to Black Ops Cold War's Outbreak mode. A four-person military vehicle, the truck doesn't have any windows so you can fire at zombies without obstruction. Players can also parachute directly into the truck, which sounds like something out of a Michael Bay movie.

New Challenges

A total of 20 new multiplayer challenges--spanning Black Ops Cold War and Warzone--are coming in Season 2, along with 20 more challenges for Zombies. Players can earn things like calling card and XP boosts, among other things, for completing them.

New Prestige Levels

With the Season 2 refresh, Activision is resetting your season level back to 1 so you can start the grind all over again. The new Prestige structure for Season 2 is as follows:

  • Level 50: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, Weapon Blueprint, and Battle Pass Tier Skip
  • Level 100: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, and Battle Pass Tier Skip
  • Level 150: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, and Battle Pass Tier Skip
  • Level 190: All Season Challenges Available
  • Level 200: New Prestige, Emblem, Prestige Key, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Master Prestige Calling Card
