Microsoft is "actively engaged" with Activision to bring the game back, but no word on when that will happen.

Representatives for Microsoft and Activision acknowledged the game's removal, but did not offer a specific reason for why it happened. For its part, Microsoft says in a statement to Polygon (via that the game was removed "temporarily," while the company is "actively engaged with Activision to return it as soon as possible." No timetable for its return has been announced.

Right now, the Black Ops III preorder page on states that the game is "available at your local retailer for preorder."
