Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Xbox 360/PS3 Targeting 30FPS
"The experience is very enjoyable, otherwise it's not Call of Duty."
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III are targeting a frame rate of 30fps, not 60fps like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions. The last-generation versions of this year's entry are being developed by Beenox and Mercenary Technology, not principal developer Treyarch Studios.

Beenox creative director Thomas Wilson said his team attempted to get Black Ops III's last-gen versions running at 60fps, but it's more likely that the final frame rate will be 30fps.
"I'd say that we tried to hit that target [60fps]," he explained to Develop. "We're basically looking more at something like 30fps. "But still, the experience is very enjoyable, otherwise it's not Call of Duty."
Reaching 60fps "becomes harder" when development is stretched across multiple console generations, Wilson added. In 2012, Treyarch producer David Vonderhaar said hitting 60fps was "essential" for a successful Call of Duty game.
"We think 60 frames is super essential," he said at the time. "Any time you have any kind of input latency at all, players can feel that. I'm pretty convinced Call of Duty is as popular as it is because of how fluid it can feel. You can feel the difference, and we go to a lot of trouble to try to keep the game running at 60 frames all the time."
It's not just frame rate that takes a hit this year for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Black Ops III. As announced previously, the last-generation editions also do not feature the game's four-player campaign mode. However, players can still expect multiplayer and zombies.
