The highly sought-after Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare beta has been officially dated for Aussie and New Zealand gamers who are over the age of 15. Registration is currently open for players who are keen to get into some multiplayer action before the game's release on November 7. Those who are lucky enough to be selected will have their beta token sent to them via e-mail and will be able to download the beta off Xbox Live on September 11.

Although the site doesn't confirm how many gamers will be accepted into the beta, it indicates that there are limited positions. US gamers have been playing the beta since August 27 and had to register their interest via the official COD4 site, as opposed to through Microsoft. The beta contains three maps and allows up to 12 gamers to play against each other.
