Cadence of Hyrule, the cross-over between Crypto of the Necrodancer and The Legend of Zelda, is getting three DLC packages throughout 2020, with the first launching later today on Nintendo Switch. The DLC was announced during the Nintendo Direct Mini earlier today.

The first DLC pack introduces five new playable characters to the game, each with their own unique ability. Impa, for example, features a long spear to engage enemies from afar, making it easier to avoid damage, while Aria will instantly die if you take a hit or miss a beat. The pack also includes shadow versions of both Link and Zelda, two of the game's original protagonists, as well as Crypt of the Necrodancer shopkeeper Frederick.

The second pack is all about music, adding a full 39 new songs to the game from a variety of composers. These include Chipzel, FamilyJules, and A_Rival. Some songs will be new pieces entirely, while others will be remixes of existing background tracks. You will be able to toggle between the original and new versions of songs from the options menu at any time.

The third, and seemingly largest, DLC pack adds a new campaign to Cadence of Hyrule, inspired by Ocarina of Time sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. You'll play as that game's antagonist, Skull Kid, who features the ability to use different masks to transform, like Link in the original game. Symphony of the Mask will feature a new map and story, as well as a brand-new selection of songs to match your rhythm to.

Both DLC Packs 1 and 2 will retail for $6 each, with the first releasing later today. DLC Pack 3, Symphony of the Mask, will be slightly more expensive at $10. No release dates were confirmed for the remaining two packs, but Nintendo stated that both will launch before the end of October. All three can be picked up with the season pass, which will go on sale today for $15. A new physical version of the game including all DLC will launch on October 23 for $40.
