Pong's creator is keeping busy lately. Nolan Bushnell - the father of video gaming, who originally founded Atari and who has since gone on to other tasks - announced today that he will be joining WebQuest International's Board of Directors.

The company runs several web sites, including www.ipong.com, a site that lets gamers play Pong against one another over a browser. In early 2000, players will be able to compete for cash prizes.

"It's flattering to see the renewed interest in Pong after so many years, especially amid all the complex strategy games on the market right now," said Nolan Bushnell. "I'm excited about having an opportunity to participate in its rebirth as an online multiplayer tournament game. I'm also happy to see that the cost of playing a game is still only twenty-five cents." Bushnell will also make an appearance on the ZDTV program Big Thinkers on January 5 at 10:30pm EST to talk about his latest project, uWink.com.
