Burnout Paradise Remastered Microtransaction Listing Is A Mistake, Says EA

Thought EA was against remasters... Guess they changed their tune

One of favorite arcade racers of all time next to San Francisco Rush on the Nintendo 64. I have this on ps3 and xbox, will love to see the pc version. I want criterion to make a new one.

Yes i hate MTX's as much as everyone else, but I think this is a simple error on psn part. This game is a old Remaster it is has all 8 DLCS that ever came out included. Maybe if they add cars later or something but i doubt it or the optional time saver pack. Its a remastered port nothing else. people need to calm down. SW BG2 yes EA messed up, but not everything is bad. Activision and COD with the care packages you want bad, its like winning in vegas when you get anything good even if you spend money your chances dont increase just that many more times to loose out on what you actually want...

Its just me who sees this as a confession of him , knowing how wrong this is and how much we dislike microtransactions? He is practically saying "Please dont get angry, we didnt put in this game this thing everyone hate so much, so calm down people."

I thought EA said remasters were 'Easy Money' that they wanted to 'focus on the future' and 'delivering new IP and new experiences'. So much for that then ... turning to the 'Easy Money' now your micro-transactions have hit a bit of a pot-hole.

EA: The store listing for Burnout Paradise that mentions 'in-game purchases optional' is an error, we meant to say 'in-game purchases required'.

Even on the off chance that micros aren't going to make their way in after release. Companies are probably expecting them from EA by default.

That's right, they didn't want to mention about microtransactions until after you purchased the game and can't get a refund.

This is the current EA, there is 0 chance that microtransactions won't make it into a game. The original had packs that you could buy (back when DLC at least had decent value to what you purchased), but I'm sure this will be broken into overpriced piecemeal.

You want your favourite car? Too bad, its in a random lootbox with 500 other things you don't want and it only has a 1% chance of obtaining. Oh, you wanted the car in green, sorry, colour customizing is in another lootbox.

Knowing EA they will probably wait until they sell a good amount of the game then add microtransactions at that time.

I'll stick with my X360 copy. I don't need Microtransaction bullshit in my games.

well, why was that in the original copy in the first place? i would assume someone at EA needs to approve the description before it is posted on psn. maybe there was a time where they thought about putting it in but later changed their mind? i.e. after their memorable 2017 stints?

Well to play devil`s advocate for a second, maybe stores are so used to writing this for EA so much that they didn`t even bother checking lol.

When I saw the trailer yesterday, it mentioned all the DLC are included and actually listed them so unless there is new content made for this release I don't how they could even put MTs in there and justify it. I won't get this at launch as I've played this on both XB360 and PS3 a lot but likely later in the year.

I'll get excited when there's a remaster/remake of Burnout 3, AKA "the last good Burnout game". Crash Mode needs to make a comeback.

gamespot EA hasn't received criticisms about the way they HANDLED MTX's, they got criticism for simply having MTX's i think last year was a turning point and alot of people now have finally come to the realisation that there is no such thing as a right way to do MTX's. they are all disgusting low effort money grabs that need to be eradicated.

Naw, we'll keep those pitchforks up for now, thank you very much. Because even if you're actually not screwing us on this one, we all know you're figuring out ways to make up for it on the next one.
