Bungie teaser marks July 14

OMG please no! Marathon was never really a good game to begin with. That would be a pretty big letdown.

I really hope they will at least announce something about another Halo game. I mean seriously. Halo 3 did not conclude the story. There's still more story to be told. Whatever it is though, I'm sure it has to be good if it's coming from Bungie. Lets just not hope it something like Gnop 2 or something! HAHA! Now that would be bad, but at the same time, pretty funny.

I hope it's a new Halo game with a new generation of spartans when suddenly masterchief is found! Well, I hope so anyway.....IT"S NOT BAD TO WANT A NEW HALO GAME!!!

I really hope its a new IP but I honestly don't expect more than the announcing of new maps...

Yeah, what Petri87 said... I didn't even have to explain. Hell, if you're a Bungie enthusiest you already knew all those things, since they said them blatantly on their website... then again, fanatics of all shapes and sizes, to include game fanatics, don't listen to facts or the truth, so explaining things to them is hard, because you need to make good points without ever stating a fact, otherwise they'll abandon your whole discussion... Yeah, not a Halo game, not a PS3 game (Bungie said it, not just me), and it's not Halo-related, such as Halo Wars or Halo Chronicles, which actually hasn't been completely phased out. Peter Jackson is still working on it, and Weta Entertainment is still working on it... to the extent that in an interview Peter said he was still hard at work on it, which was only a few months ago.

Thank you Petri87 for a great comment:) The story for Halo is done and they shouldn't make anymore because they would just be milking it. I love the Halo series to death, its one of my most favorite game series of all time but the story is finished and done. Now the next Halo game we are expecting is Halo Wars which hasn't had a confirmed release date so that could be the announcement. Also, they could be making another franchise exclusively for the 360 (They haven't done anything with the PS3 so I'd doubt they'd go multi-plat)

Comments like Petri87's are the ones I one plus. We need more like you here on Earth. People that care. Not to discount PaulDixon and all those he is responding to - without you all, there would be no amazing comment.

I dont really get why some ppl think that its One: A ps3 game. MS wont allow a bungie game on the PS3, they still have the first look at bungie games where they can decide if they want to publish it or not. Two: Its a Halo Wars trailer or release date. Bungie doesnt own Halo and they are not making Halo Wars. So thats 100% not it. Three: That its a Halo game. That was the whole point of them splitting of so that they can make other games too. Forth: That its the Peter Jackson project. For one its dead and two it was supposed to be made by wetta or what ever his effects studio was called. And fifth: That the halo games are made to death. There are 3 halo games. Pretty hard to be dead when there are other series like GTA that have 9 games, FF has 1 million, MGS has 7 or so and those are still going strong. Thats all

Aren't they doing some project related to Halo with Peter Jackson? They did say that Halo 3 was the conclusion of that story arc. They did not say that it was the end of the masterchief. Legendary ending anyone the chief and cortana floating on the fringes of the milkyway............ cut to below the stricken ship and don't want to spoil it for anyone that doesn't know but............... come on its been left wideopen. Anyone seen the diorama ads that proceeded the release of Halo 3 one specific advert talking to a soldier 60years after the end of the war dated 2609 I think the chief nevermade it back he was lost prosumed dead. That leaves a new storyarc a clean slate. Forerunners that may of survived 'Ghosts of Onyx' the shield planet, a new threat. ?????????? Anythings possible.

I'll place my money on Marathon remakes and / or sequels.

Was never really a big Halo fan (just not my cup of tea), however theres no denying that it was very good at what it did, i just hope Bungie put the same effort etc into the new IP's. intruiged : )

@ Snickerfatty if you played halo 3 you would no that there will never be another halo game if the devs have any logic. notice how you destroy the halo rings there fore it should not be called halo. sure they might have another game with master chief but not a halo game.

There are people who actually still play Myth 2. Just google mariusnet. Not a whole lot of people play it, and the people that do are so good at the game that newcomers get destroyed. That and you need a lot of plug-ins to play most of the matches.

bungie is big enough to make more than one game that what frankie said so i bet that they are gonna make a new halo game and a completely new game

We will eventually see a Marathon one day. SPOILERS- I mean, look at the way Halo 3 ended. It could be Master Chief hundreds of years in the future after humans find his ship.

New Marathon, New Marathon, New Marathon. Come on Bungie if Blizzard can bring back Diablo after an 8 year time span you could bring back Marathon, but whatever happens I'll still love you guys for the Halo games.

A new franchise would be nice! Hopefully Their talents will be for the ps3 this time.

Why is it that people only think Bungie can do Halo games? Bungie did Oni, Marathon, Myth, and several others before they did any Halo. Hell, Myth was the first truly 3D RTS, but who even mentions it when they talk about RTS... oh, and it won a bunch of awards, but again, you never here about it (though it's not played to this day like Starcraft). I want to see what else Bungie can do. I don't want another Halo or Halo-related game for a few years. I want the next Halo on the next generation of consoles, or even later. I don't want them to beat this like a dead horse like the Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, or Megaman series. It's gets old really, really fast, and it starts to get stupid after you've reached fricken 10. Bungie is a small independant developer that knows it's fans are raging fanboys... so hopfully they realise that just because they have loyal fans doesn't mean they only have to cater to them.

God I hate the term 'IP' at most times but espcially when applied to this particular creative medium - it's so corporate and soulless. Why don't they just speak English (or Spanish or French or Chinese or anything other than bland marketing speak) and say 'game'. And whatever they do, don't expand that to 'gaming franchise'. Bleurgh! I remember the days, before the corporate suits moved in with their money and their lawyers, when computer games were bizarre fun creations made by spotty teenagers in their bedrooms and released on tape cassette with photocopied artwork they had designed themselves. Probably pretty much how Bungie started out.

I don't think Bungie could port over Halo to the PS3. Bungie was just the developer. MS owns the rights to it, and they would NEVER let it be ported

A new IP would be cool. Hopefully it's a nother XBox 360 exclusive. I wish I was going to the E3 this year. Should be interesting to see what annoucements they make.

The Adventures of Master Chief! "Hey, Cortana, lets go on an adventure!!!" *skips through the forest* Seriously... I wouldn't be able to make a call on what they're going to do. Obviously there is an inention to continue the Halo universe, though the next game would *not* be called Halo. I'm tempted to think it'll be called Onyx, maybe, seeing as how that's what it looked like the MC was heading down to on the half a ship. Or it might be a Marathon sequel. Who knows?

I dont know, unfortunately bungie really hasnt proven themselves having the halo series as their only IP that ever did anything well ... im not gonna get my hopes up :S

I think we all know what the big secret is...... I am sry but anything that deals with halo we know what the next game. even a 7 year old can figure that out. And yes I don't really like halo 3 either cause u got your little cursing kids on the game. I just wished Microsoft blocks kids from playing M rated games on live. It will sure be a god sent blessing for every mature person who plays M rated games on live

I dont think they mean Halo or Marathon when they say "New IP". I also hope its something good. Personally, I like Halo and think it is a good game overall. Excellent multiplayer too.

dewd4-- Bungie is absolutely not an "overrated piece of rubbish." Halo might be overrated, but Bungie is not, just so there's a distinction.

If you're angry at Halo 3 then you're a bit of a kid. I'm 20 and I didn't like the single player either and the online modes frustrate the hell out of me but I'm not so immature as to say it's a crap game and ignore the positives just because it makes my blood boil online. If you actually dislike Halo with a passion then you need to grow some balls.

Emraldo-Bungie isn't making Halo Wars , a completely different company is. Ensemble Studios, who makes great RTS games is making Halo Wars. Educmacation is guud !

Maybe they're going to announce that they've cancelled Halo Wars and are finally making something new.

I am hoping for a new addition to the Halo series besides Halo Wars.
