Though Bungie.net weekly update is usually a source of good news, the latest edition shot down a rumor which many hoped might be true. Responding to a reader, update author Frank "Frankie" O'Connor quashed speculation that one of the games that put Bungie on the map will be rereleased for the Xbox 360. The game in question is Marathon, the sci-fi first-person shooter the then-independent studio released in 1994 for the Macintosh. When asked if the game might be released on Xbox Live Arcade, Frankie said, "Of course it's possible, it's just not on any current agenda. If it's any consolation, many, many people think it's a good idea." Marathon's popular sequels, Marathon 2: Durandal and Marathon Infinity, were not mentioned.
