Buka Entertainment has today announced that it will release Hellforces in the first quarter of 2005. The game, which is currently in development at Orion, is a first-person shooter in which players will have to battle against soulless zombies that have been possessed by demons from a parallel world.

The zombies are the product of experiments conducted by biophysicist Henry Alfred Cole, who, after extracting souls from human bodies, is able to use the souls as a power source. One of the zombies, possessed by a demon named Baphomet, has founded a cult dedicated to opening a gateway into the human world for Lucifer. As a result, it's up to players to stop the possessed zombie, his cult, and possibly even Lucifer.

Hellforces will feature 24 different weapons and a number of gadgets, including binoculars, night-vision goggles, and a motion sensor. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
