In addition to consoles, Brothers will be released for iOS, Android, and Windows phones and tablets in the same period.

Brother: A Tale of Two Sons was first released on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC in 2013. The game places players in control of two brothers, with each one mapped to the two thumbsticks on a controller.

The pair must journey to the Tree of Life and acquire its water to save their sick father. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons received critical acclaim for its emotionally charged narrative, exhilarating platforming, and challenging puzzle design.

In GameSpot's Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons review, we awarded the game a score of 8.

"Sure, the puzzles are suitably challenging and mighty clever in places, and the imposing environments are beautifully realised, but it's all there to build those emotional ties, and create moments that hit you right in the pit of your stomach," said our reviewer.

"Brevity is the only real misstep here, and you can't help but feel that with a little more time to build up the characters those emotional highs would have an even greater impact. But it's not enough to detract from what is a great achievement: an ambitious, emotionally affecting adventure that's short, but oh so sweet."

For me this game will go down as one of the most brilliant and unique titles I have ever played in my life. Its one of the most severely underrated games of the last generation. Please buy this game to those who are remotely interested in a game which is a work of art with an excellent storytelling.

Its not a game to be played twice though since I already have it on PS3 and the game's bloody gorgeous there...so I am skipping it maybe if it goes on sale I might change my mind. :)

Great game, not sure it needed upgrading, apart from those that haven't played it.

This was a pretty neat game. Played it when it was free on 360. Frustrating controls, but it didn't ruin the experience for me. It was an emotional journey.

We can thank the lack of backwards compatibility for all these remasters. Well, its more money for the devs, so if they use this money to create new experiences in the future, then we shouldn't really mind it.

This game was free on GWG for the 360 a few months back. I played it for about and hour and got bored with it. There can't possibly be much of a demand for a remastered version. I'd assume Gamespot is getting paid to promote this game...because there's really no other reason for the number articles published here this week on it.

now that would be the perfect game for Wii U... so why the hell would they not release it on Wii U? Stupid mistake... I already own it on PC... won't buy it on Xbone or PS4.

there should be a law prohibiting these remastered games. For Christ sake's, stop milking the remastered wagon and develop NEW games for the NEW consoles...not OLD games for NEW consoles.

@kenpachi212:

There are plenty of new games coming out. So far this year there's been The Order (I know it wasn't that good), Battlefield:Hardline, Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Splatoon, Elder Scrolls Online, Project Cars, Mortal Kombat X, MLB 15, Evolve, Ori and The Blind Forest, Hotline Miami 2, and more.

These aren't all AAA, instant classic titles but not all new games are going to be great. Considering these releases are from the early half of the year that's not a bad list. The remainder of the year, starting with Arkham Knight in 2 weeks, has plenty to be excited about.

I just don't understand the logic that making these Remastered titles some how prevents new titles from being created. And even if there are more new games there is no guarantee that the new games will be good. I agree this generation of consoles is off to a slow start and has more Remastered/Remake titles than the norm but it's not like new games are being made. They are just taking time to be made and released.

@scottyp360: my friend, I don't want to offend you but that's just plain moronic. They are not taking their time...they are taking forever for a once in a while new game (which always get delayed an extra year) to come out. If the original game was intended for old gen it should remain in old gen consoles. Next gen need next gen games, not remastered/remake titles....Milk wagon it is!!!

@kenpachi212:

"They are taking forever." And do you think developers are doing this purposely to say "haha screw you gamers we are going to make you wait as long as possible for our game."

It takes time to develop these games and with the upgrade in technology it is only going to take more time due to the amount of detail and content they can put into the games. On top of that they need make sure the game is able to perform to expectations.

We all want games as soon as possible but we also want these games to be worth while. I don't want to buy a new game and think "this game would have been so much better if developers took a little more time to work out the bugs, glitches, and other issues."

Hell look at Witcher 3. The game was in development for at least 3 years and there were still people that felt the game was a mess. And it is indisputable that they game released with it's share of bugs and issues.

So even if developers stop "wasting their time with Remasters" there is no guarantee that more new games will release and that these games will be good.

This year feels like the year we are really getting new next gen games in quality and quantity. Sure there could be more but I like having the time to enjoy games when they release instead of feeling like I need to rush through a game just to play the next new release.

@scottyp360: what you like and the reality of things are two different things. Keep playing last gen games on your next console...that is why you bought it for in the first place, right?

I've been enjoying Bloodborne and Witcher 3 quite a bit. Sunset Overdrive was a fun time. Destiny kept me entertained for awhile and it was nice having a game I could enjoy with friends without it solely being competitive multiplayer. Second Son was another game that was fun while it lasted. The sports titles I've played have been better on next gen...for the most part. And I am going to play the hell out of Arkham Knight when it releases in two weeks.

Yeah I'd say I've enjoyed my time with next gen games so far. Have I had something new to play every month? No. I admit new releases have not been consistent but I can't entirely blame that on Remastered games. The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, and The Order developers released no Remastered titles and their games still took 3 years to release.

Ahh the old "I don't have a logical response so I'll just reply with an insult." Nice! Way too go!

Sorry, I am unable to play videogames at work but I can certainly kill time posting on these threads. Maybe you'll understand when you're older young boy.

@kenpachi212: Not having a boat load of new games to play this time of year isn't anything new (if you aren't taking advantage of any sales). Good thing E3 is coming with a lot of news of what to look forward to the rest of this year and the holiday season. "There should be a law prohibiting...", way to whine like a school girl. No one pities you for being bored with your video games champ, absolutely no one.

@TacticaI: my life is way to good to have the need of you feeling pity for me. I can buy any console, game, gadget I want...I work and make a shit load to support my gaming habit.

Whining and keeping it real are totally different concepts...no go back to your basement.

@kenpachi212: I think I know who actually lives in a basement here, and it's the kid pissing and moaning about a remaster of some XBLA game from last gen. The only way you would work and make ''a shit load to support your gaming habit'' and ''can buy any console, game, gadget you want'', is if by work you mean homework, and make enough you mean a combination of mommy/daddy & allowance. Now shoo.
