Broken Age, Act 1 available to Kickstarter backers on Jan. 14
Backers will be able to download Double Fine's crowd-funded adventure game from Steam.
Double Fine founder Tim Schafer announced on twitter that Broken Age, Act 1 will be made available on Jan. 14 to those who backed the game on Kickstarter. Backers will be able to download the game from Steam.
Broken Age made a lot of headlines in 2012 with its extremely successful Kickstarter campaign, surpassing its initial goal of $400,000 with a total of $3.3 million from 87,142 backers.
In July last year, Double Fine announced that it would be splitting the game into two halves, and using revenue made from the first part to fund development of the second. Backers of the project will receive both episodes at no additional cost.
We recently learned that Lord of The Rings actor Elijah Wood will join the cast of Broken Age as the voice of Shay, one of the game's main playable characters. He joins an already notable cast including Jack Black (Brutal Legend), Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect 3, BioShock Infinite), Richard Horvitz (Psychonauts), and Nick Jameson (Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle), as well as others from previous Double Fine games.
