Bravely Default's expansive jobs system lets you mix and match the powers of two different professions to create characters with unique abilities, like a pirate with vampire powers or a mage with sweet ninja skills. But to create the best mixes, you'll need to know what the abilities each job will have (for example, if you want to make your Knight immune to blind, then you'll need to level up your Monk to level 8 before you assign it as your secondary job).

Arcanist

The Arcanist uses strong black magic that can take advantage of status conditions.

Dark Knight

The Dark Knight uses physical attacks that sacrifice HP in order to do damage.

Freelancer

The freelancer is a "jack of all trades", a profession which can do most things with average ability. It's the starting job of the game. Freelancer has access to useful abilities, but it's probably not a profession you want to stay in for most of the game.

Merchant

The merchant is good for making money, and can also spend money to provide support.

The monk specializes in physical attacks, armed or unarmed.

Vampire

The Vampire can learn the abilities of various monsters.

10Self-Restore1 SPRestores all HP when a battle ends.
11Absorb Stats20 MPIncrease one of your stats by 25% and decrease the target's by 25%.

White Mage

The white mage provides healing and support for other party members.
