Borderlands 3 PS5 And Xbox Series X/S Versions Will Be Available At Next-Gen Launch
The free next-gen upgrade for Borderlands 3 will release the same day as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
If you've been hunting for vaults with your friends in Borderlands 3 and you're planning to pick up a next-gen console, we've got some good news for you. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/Series S versions of Borderlands 3 will be available at the launch of each console: November 10 for Xbox, and November 12 for PlayStation 5.
As previously announced, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game will be free to those who own the game on the respective previous-gen console. Your add-on content and your save file will also transfer, though if you own the disc version of the game, you need a version of the console that has a disc drive in order to claim your copy.
Borderlands 3 will receive a substantial update to take advantage of this next-gen horsepower, including 4K support at 60 frames-per-second, as well as three- and four-player split-screen for local multiplayer. Vertical split-screen for two-player local co-op is also included, and will come to the Xbox One and PS4 versions at the launch of the new consoles.
Though the game's season pass has mostly run its course--along with four DLC packs, including Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck--Borderlands 3 will receive more content over the coming months, including an upcoming Arms Race mode. A recent update brought a Halloween event to the game and tweaked the character Zane.
