Yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment's online store began offering tickets to BlizzCon 08, its latest jamboree of all things Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft. Demand was so great that the store quickly crashed and was down until this afternoon, when it once again offering BlizzCon tickets for $100 a pop. When GameSpot editors checked around 2 p.m. PDT, tickets were still available. However, by 4:30 p.m, the store displayed a "sold out" notice to anyone wishing to scoop one up.

Blizzard sold 8,000 tickets to BlizzCon 07, which was also attended by over 2,000 additional journalists and Blizzard employees, along with their friends and family. BlizzCon 08 is set to be even bigger when it runs from October 10 to 11 at Anaheim Convention Center, where it has expanded from two to three halls. As with past shows, the developer will be offering hands-on time with upcoming games, as well as panel discussions, tournaments, costume contests, and a silent auction.
