The game features three different Vikings, each of which has unique skills and abilities that players must use in order to solve puzzles. The Lost Vikings also features 35 levels and various types of enemies.

"The Lost Vikings was one of the first games that Blizzard developed, and we look forward to bringing the game to a new generation of players," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and cofounder. "We have fond memories of The Lost Vikings, and we felt that the 10-year anniversary was the ideal time to revisit this game. Additionally, the style of gameplay translates well to the Game Boy Advance."
