Blade Runner 2049 Director in Talks for Possible Dune Reboot

If fear is the mind-killer, what's hype?

Denis Villeneuve, director of 2016's Arrival starring Amy Adams, has been in talks with Legendary about working on a proposed reboot of Dune, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Legendary acquired film and television rights to Frank Herbert's sandworm and spice science-fiction last month. It isn't clear from the report whether Villeneuve will be working on adaptations for both film and TV, but it was noted that Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter will produce the adaptation, with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Kim Herbert coming on board as executive producers.

Villeneuve is also working on the recently announced Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling, including an appearance from Harrison Ford, reprising his role as Rick Deckard.
