A third Black Panther film is being planned, according to star Letitia Wright. Speaking to Variety at the Golden Globes this week, Wright said it might take some time, but another Black Panther film is in the pipeline.

"I think it's already in the works," Wright said. "You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing [Wakanda Forever] out and everybody coming together to support it. We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup and [director] Ryan [Coogler] needs to get back into the lab, so it's going to take a little while, but we're really excited for you guys to see that."

Wright went on to say that, although Black Panther 3 might not be a done deal at this point, she's hopeful it gets made one day.

"I always try to do positive words and positive thinking, and I believe that good words manifest, so I'm manifesting a Black Panther 3, why not?" she said.

In November 2022, Coogler himself told Variety that he had "no idea" what his next movie would be. Marvel boss Kevin Feige said in the same piece that he's had "conversations" about a third Black Panther film. The two have pitched ideas back and forth, Feige said.

Wright, who plays Shuri in the Black Panther series, deleted her Twitter account in 2022 after posting about COVID vaccines.

Black Panther was released in 2018 and earned more than $1 billion globally. Star Chadwick Boseman died in 2020 from colon cancer. The sequel, Wakanda Forever, released in November and made more than $830 million globally. The script was altered after Boseman's passing.
