NovaLogic has today announced that the worldwide release of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, which was originally scheduled to arrive in stores this month, has been delayed until the first quarter of 2003.

"We feel that we need to invest some additional time in 'polishing' the title to make sure that when it does hit the streets, it will be a benchmark for the genre,” said Lee Milligan, president of NovaLogic. "We know that a number of fans will be disappointed with the delay, but they can be sure that the game will be worth the wait."

Black Hawk Down is a squad-based tactical shooter set in Somalia in 1993. Specifically, the game focuses on Operation Restore Hope and the campaigns of the Task Force Rangers. As they progress through the game, players will fight alongside the US Army's 10th Mounted Division and Task Force Rangers before being promoted to the elite Delta Force squad.
