I appreciate their contribution to gaming so far and I wish them the best of luck in the coming years, but I find their shop to be really lacking when compared to Steam, even though they don't have DRM. Like the only games I find worth buying there are The Witcher games and the odd "AA-A" game they might have, everything else looks like it was made with a budget of 100 bucks.

@REDShadowG: I like classic PC games and games made for PC over AAA ports tbh. GoG has a great selection for me and DRM free is wonderful.

@REDShadowG:Then you should find lots to like on Gog. There's a ton of good indie games--limbo, ftl, paper please, Shadowrun (Dragonfall is especially awesome), outlast (scariest game I've ever played), Bastion (maybe my all-time favorite indie game), The Swapper (the only game competing with Bastion)--along with a number of classic games KOTOR and the D&D games are especially good.

I myself own most of those games on steam and while steam will always have a larger selection, there's a lot of good stuff on GOG.

@RS13: Many of my favorite franchises are absent there and even when it comes to the games they do have, I don't feel like dividing my games library in countless different places. The only way I don't buy something on Steam is if it ain't there.

@REDShadowG: That's fine, I'm not trying to convince you to shop there. I'm just saying that there is lots of good stuff there. FWIW, you can add games to your steam library which were purchased elsewhere. Now, if you like to keep your library in list view, the icons will be really ugly, but it's an option nonetheless.

@REDShadowG: Most likely their shop is lacking *because* of their lack of DRM. Not all developers/publishers are trusting enough that people won't steal their stuff.

They're definitely a long ways away from having a library to match Valve's. Whenever given the choice, I'll always resort to GoG first, though.

@chibi-acer: The other good thing with Gog is all the extras they usually throw in too.

@REDShadowG: What type of games do you like man? I mean did you just buy a PC to play better looking AAA ports? All the big PC games are on GoG with the exception of Valve and Blizzard stuff. Just looking at the top sellers shows. Grim Dawn, Shadow Warrior 2, Tyranny, Witcher 3, Kerbal Space Program, Divinity Original Sin 2, Dying Light, Shadow Run Hong Kong, Darkest Dungeon, Pillars of Eternity, Stardew Valley, Silence, Owlboy, Corpse Party, Obduction, Torchlight II and many. many more.

The store has a pretty insane collection.
