BioWare files suit against Interplay
The Canada-based developer of the Baldur's Gate role-playing game series alleges that the publisher breached two contracts.
Canada-based game developer BioWare has announced that it has filed a lawsuit against Interplay Entertainment. The lawsuit claims that Interplay breached two contracts with BioWare by sublicensing the distribution of BioWare games without the knowledge or consent of the developer.
According to a BioWare spokesperson, development at the company is continuing, and the upcoming role-playing games Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic are coming along according to plan. The developer declined to discuss any further details of the lawsuit. Interplay was not available for comment at press time.
BioWare is best known for creating the popular Baldur's Gate PC role-playing games based on the Dungeons & Dragons game system. For more information, take a look at our Baldur's Gate archive.
