As expected, there have been a ton of new games showcased at E3 2021. However, with so many streams and presentations giving us new glimpses at what's coming next, you're likely to lose track of them all. Below we've compiled a list of the biggest games at the show.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

We've seen little from the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since Nintendo announced the project at E3 2019. At E3 2021, however, Nintendo finally lifted the veil on the highly-anticipated sequel by showing off gameplay and even announcing a release window. The recent footage offered a closer look at Link's new abilities, including the ability to phase through solid objects, shoot fire from his arm, and much more. Metroid Dread

Metroid Dead came as a surprise during Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct presentation. As the first all-new side-scrolling Metroid game in nearly two decades, the upcoming sequel received much fanfare upon its debut. The game continues the story of bounty hunter Samus Aran, who is must deal with deadly robotic beings known as EMMI.

Mario Party Superstars

Nintendo is releasing a new Mario Party game that celebrates the series' past. Titled Mario Party Superstars, the upcoming game remasters five boards and 100 mini-games from the series' Nintendo 64 entries. All mini-games in the collection support button controls and online functionality with the option for random matchmaking. There's also the option to save progress mid-game on any board to resume at a later time.

Shin Megami Tensei V

With the immense popularity of the Persona games, Atlus seems like it's looking to make a big splash with the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series. WarioWare: Get It Together

It once again centers around Wario and his eccentric friends, with who you complete all manner of wacky mini-games. However, new to WarioWare Get It Together is the addition of local two-player co-op and multiple playable characters with unique abilities.

Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp

Another surprise during Nintendo's Direct presentation was the return of the cult-favorite strategy game series, Advance Wars, which has been dormant for 13 years. The series will be coming back in the form of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, a collection that remasters the first two games. Nintendo says that each game has been "reimagined and rebuilt from the ground up" for Switch, featuring enhanced graphics and controls. The game also features the full campaigns from both titles as well as a local and online Versus mode for up to four players.

Mario Golf: Super Rush

Mario Golf: Super Rush sees Mario and crew tee off in another sports game created by longtime developer Camelot. Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 is the latest in Ubisoft's tenured open-world shooter franchise. Set in the fictional country of Yara, you're put in the role of a guerilla fighter working to overthrow its tyrannical dictator, portrayed by none other than renowned actor Giancarlo Esposito. As you'd expect, Far Cry 6 is looking to expand your repertoire of destructive weapons you can use to wreak havoc while also properly bringing the series into the next generation with a stunning, lush tropical world to explore.

Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor of the fan-favorite Left 4 Dead series. A new card-based system will adjust the classic Left 4 Dead-style gameplay loop, introducing modifiers to your character's traits.

Elden Ring

While we know very little about the game's dark fantasy story--written in collaboration between director Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin--the E3 2021 gameplay trailer, at least, offers a closer look at how the game will look and play. Suffice to say: it looks brutal.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite is quite possibly the biggest first-party exclusive on Microsoft's docket of upcoming games, and for a good reason. As the latest in the tenured first-person shooter franchise, expectations for Halo Infinite are undoubtedly high. The upcoming game is set after Halo 5: Guardians and will see the return of Master Chief as the main protagonist. This time around, the USNC needs saving from the Banished, the antagonists of Halo Wars 2.

Battlefield 2042

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

For nearly two years, Dying Light 2 was absent from industry events with zero updates on its development--aside from the fact that it was still happening. But all that changed this year as we began to receive more information from developer Techland. With a new name, Dying Light 2 Stay Human is very much still a thing. Set in an isolated urban landscape during the zombie apocalypse, you play Aiden Caldwell, a freelance runner who handles various odd jobs and tasks for the city's citizens. Like the original, you'll parkour across rooftops and fight off zombie hordes, all in an effort to merely survive. This time around, a new faction system can change the way the story progresses based on who you choose to help, which should make your high-flying, zombie-killing antics exciting and unique to your experiences.

Tales of Arise

A brand-new trailer for the upcoming sports game detailed some of the activities that you and your friends can complete in the game, including 6v6 trick battles and 50-player mass races. Riders Republic will support both cross-play and cross-progression at launch, allowing you to play with your friends regardless of the system and take your progress with you across hardware.
