Finnish mobile handset manufacturer Nokia announced a new set of features for its Series 60 smart phone platform today. Series 60 Second Edition will include support for the CDMA mobile protocol as well as GSM, meaning that new Series 60 handsets using Second Edition--which may include future versions of the N-Gage--could work on North American carriers not currently able to support such handsets, including Verizon Wireless. In addition, Series 60 Second Edition will support higher screen resolutions, including 208x208, 240x320 QVGA, and 352x416, and will have enhanced 3D graphics support.
