Update: We've corrected the hardware sales numbers at the bottom of the article, as the PS3 numbers were not stated. We apologize for this mistake.

While still in the top 10, both the Monster Hunter and Pokemon spin-offs took a small step down for the week of August 15-21 from the prior week's Media Create chart to make way for an old musical friend.

Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Felyne Village G finished the week at second place with 40,997 units sold, while Super Pokemon Rumble landed at fifth place with 32,144 units sold. Pushing them aside was the resurgent Rhythm Heaven on the Wii, which climbed back up to the number one spot with 48,190 units sold.

Multiple new titles also debuted on the top 10 list for the week. Compile Heart's RPG Hyperdimension Neptunia MK-II, the sequel to the much-maligned Hyperdimension Neptunia, finished at fourth place with 32,751 units sold.

Additionally, the PSP upgraded port of Growlanser IV, subtitled "Over Reloaded," made its mark at sixth place on the charts with 21,896 units sold. This version of the fourth game stars a mercenary named Crevaniel as he gets tangled up in a war between four countries and a prophecy carried out by a vengeful seraphim. The port will feature new story paths and new characters for fans to muck around with.

After its recent price cut, the 3DS continued its stay in first place on the hardware side of the charts. Nintendo's portable console sold 105,639 units for the week, while Sony's PSP and PS3 sold 40,888 and 29,666 units respectively. Meanwhile, the Wii continued to hold fourth place with 18,256 units sold.
