Big Boss, Raiden appear as Kojima/Konami teaser resets

also, anyone else notice that the timer on that teaser website is set to reach zero just 4.5 hours after the start of microsofts e3 conference? << LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> not that this means its mgs4 or mgs5 for the 360, but i think theres no way konami are going to announce a ps3 exclusive 3 - 3.5 hours after the end of microsofts e3 conference, especially when they know thats microsofts time to enjoy media converage until nintendo and sonys conferences the following day. if it was a ps3 exclusive game announcement, then surely it would be set to end shortly after sonys conference? so imo, that teaser site is set to reveal something relating to the 360, either exclusive or multiformat.

Whats with these famous people saying they are going to retire and then they don't?????" i think its because kojima is caught in a dilema over mgs. he is the creator of the series, and keeps saying he wants to leave mgs for a while to focus on other projects and ideas, but the series is such a huge "cash cow" for konami that if he leaves the series to do something else, konami will just put a team together to do the next mgs game without him. no matter how much kojima tries, he cant allow that to happen. in other words, i think hideo kojima is trapped by his own creation.

Well i put this up, i still believe its raiden, but rev's idea of it not being an actual character seems a good one, the exoskeleton is not identical but the orange part is present on both the raiden in MGS4 and this one, the eye shape is very similar although different colour, not to mention the lower jaw area...<< LINK REMOVED >> (i duno if it works its the 1st time ive ever put up a pic online like this)

It might not be Raiden at all. The picture of Big Boss completely screws with my theory of a post MGS4 game. What if it's actually Gray Fox? That would also explain his bandaged eye as Raiden never had that and Raiden gets all fixed up at the end of MGS4.

Another point to make. Has anyone noticed the nearly almost invisible logo in the left hand corner of the site..?, I think it alomost looks like a Playstation Home icon,if you ask me.

This game can't take place before Metal Gear Solid 4, because in the picture flash of Raiden he has an artificial jaw, barcode on his forehead, and what looks like some bolts/screws in this forehead and the artificial jaw. Raiden didn't have those in MGS4. It also really can't take place AFTER MGS4 due to Big Boss. Just some food for thought. Maybe a remake? Who knows. Here's Raiden: << LINK REMOVED >>

Maybe it's DLC for MGS4?

Well to me it seems that if there is a next metal gear it will be Raiden's adventure before the events of metal gear solid 4 and after metal gear solid 2. There's so much vague information of what transpired during that time that it's only fitting to see a game set in that time period.

I said it last time but will say it again Project S is coming ;) I'll give you a hint(just a hint because where's the fun at telling everything I know?...and I'd rather avoid a lawsuit) look closely at the person/thing that very much looks like Raiden, if anyone on here is old enough or had the luck to play Snatchers before might see something more than just two "bolts" in the forehead and a covered eye hopefully you have a good memory, I'm sure a few clever people out there well see what it resembles from that old game, just a tiny bit updated ;)

my problem with the twin snakes cutscenes were how over exaggerated they were. snake would jump in the air do a double backflip 360 twirl and kick the bullet coming at him straight out of mid air right back into the barrel of the gun 50 feet away. the gameplay in 4 disappointed me because i hated having to hit triangle to press up against a wall... and then he pressed up against the wall wrong! i miss wallking to a wall and placing my back against it as i shimmy. MGO was so much better than MGO2 by the way aha.

i would go to sleep but got hw. but fav game is definetely mgs1 as well. i beat that game at least 20 times. gameplay mgs4. n i really like the cutscenes in twin snakes, the music was different and it wasnt as dark or hard as the ps1 version though wich i loved. i wish i could go back n play them all for the first time again

okay my favorite game in the MGS series was MGS1 with sniper wolfs death and everyhthing. i loved that game, probably played it a combined total of 12 times. got the james bond suit and all that stuff. my favorite gameplay from the series is MGS2. Twin snakes should of been perfect, but they effed it up sooo bad with those matrix esque cutscene =/

I think it would be interesting to see a game based on how Raiden became the cyborg ninja in MGS4.

hmm that would be cool. its just not very metal gear esque music tho if you ask me. i think its another franchise by kojima since he has mentioned several times he would like to work on other ideas he has

Whatever the news that Konami will unveil, I am happy that more Metal Gear is coming.

@skunkpants you might be on to something, maybe. i was thinking mask to be a whole new fanchise.. but maybe it does relate to MGS. that would be a cool thing.

i like them all. i mean it was wierd for a little bit not playing with snake but i still loved the game. that codec convo at the end with the AIs (rose n cambell) was just rediculous. ive listened to that convo at least 10 times n still have no idea what the hell they are talking about lol

well we are all going to have are different preferences and im not saying you dont have good ideas i just think that cloning needs to stop lol. but your comment reminded me of two things in mgs4 that i was very disappointed in 1)NO GREY FOX REFERENCE. i was so excited and certain that when snake walked into the underground maintenance base in act 4 that there would be some sort of flashback for fox with his last scene in mgs1. like maybe his sword was still stuck in the ground there and snake walks up to it and grabs it and has a little flashback. i was so pumped for that and was really disappointed that nothing like that happened there especially since snake n frank were best friends. 2)not as big a disappointment but i was hoping we would walk by ravens remains and see his gun still sitting there or he would whisper something to us through his ravens. because even though he was a foe, he still kind of felt like a good guy to me with the advice he had for snake.

i gotta admit.. i liked MGS2, i never had a problem playing as Raiden in that game. and DAMN i just watched bigdog... DAMN ahaha.

any of those ideas would be good for me, im already tired of the scene expansion and i need something to geek out over..... though playing as raiden has got me hopeing he gets his own game again... and gets it right this time

i have to throw something completely off topic out as well... has anyone come across "mask" yet? it looks so intriguing... i really hope they announce this at E3 too. i would pretty much flip out over anything this man creates.

what about this, 2 ideas... maybe completely out there and wrong, but; Solidus raised Raiden as the story goes. maybe he was fully aware of the les enfantes terrible project and hes reason for existence. he knew that grey fox was such an elite solider and wanted to try the same thing out, thus creating raiden. or, remember how solidus was president and at the end of MGS1 the president order shadow moses to be destroyed.. maybe he came down and rescued the remains of grey fox and this image is completely grey fox and not raiden. okay i do like my other ideas better LOL im tired. i still think raiden and grey fox share the same genes. they look too much alike and both are ninjas! aha
