Big Boss, Raiden appear as Kojima/Konami teaser resets

Now it's calm; the storm has stopped, and the sun has begun to shine. The number 8 fades in and out with the sun. Roughly 9 and a half hours left to go. Time needs to fly by so we can find out the announcement. I'm also curious with the Mask teaser...

HaJ0k3rHa, I read your comment and thought you had something interesting to say, but I humbly have to disagree. Yes Grey Fox is dead but so is Big Boss, but still there's a picture of him in his nearly 50's at least. So it's likely this gonna take place long before MGS4 and not after. Disagree or agree, but I think I might be right.

no to xbox360 ... it must retain its exclusive rights to ps3 =)

Aww come on, why doesn't konami port Metal Gear 3 and 4 to their PC using fans. The first two ones were brilliant!

grey fox is dead. he was squashed by rex lol. and even though the eye covered up matches that of the eye grey fox lost at the end of mgs1 before he was SQUASHED to oblivion...i refuse to believe its fox. i think...knowing kojima and how he looks to mess with our minds. he purposely covered up one of raidens eyes just to stir up the community. its most likely raiden. think realistically kids...i.e. maybe its raidens son?!?

Omg.. u people that think that it's raiden or johnny or sunny are wrong. it's grey fox clearly. brown eyes. blond/white hair. same as in mgs1. look at some youtube vids of mgs1 for gamecube. the remake. tha part where his mask is off. and you can see that it's him. probably remake of the original metal gear... or maybe inbetween metal gear and mgs3. i'm just wondering if u play as solid snake or big boss. or maybe grey fox o.O

Wow! I think that Raiden lookalike dude is Grey Fox (aka Null, Frank Jaeger). And if I remembered correctly, Grey Fox had Brown eyes! He also had withe hair and just happened to be a Ninja! I really think it is him! I think the story is gonna be based on the creation of Outer Haven, Somewhere between MGS3 and Metal Gear on MSX 2. It makes sense to me because Grey Fox and Big Boss worked together on making Outer Haven, if I'm correct. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that Logo on Big Bosses hat the Outer Haven Logo? And something else that's gotten my attention a long time ago is that Raiden and Grey Fox has a lot of similarities. Am I entirely wrong or might I have something right?

hey guys...its not raiden. if u look closely the Kotaku pic of raiden it shows him in the new out fit..but if you look at his eyes u notice that there a brown color...but Raidens eye color is blue...but the white hair you ask?. Sunny (olga's daughter) has brown eyes and white hair. Thus concluding it's sunny taking up after her friend Raiden.

Well it looks like it reset again, only 24 hrs this time with the additions SLASHAWK mentioned: 6, C, O/0 and also Raiden. In addition to some of the older flashes: P, R, S/5, e, E and what we can assume to be Big Boss. I've given up trying to figure out what these letters/numbers could possibly mean now tho.

I really really really hope it's a new Metal Gear :). The mask throws me in a loop....so idk what to think yet. If you play the very beginning of MGS4 watch the tv add for the octopus with the 2 guys talking about it. After that another add for these 2 girls slowly floating in mid-air, at the end of that there is a mask that looks slightly similar to the one on the Konami teaser sight. The mask on the the add represents Ocelots PMC. Maybe it's a coincidence but idk. Pray it's the next MGS!!

if you guys go to the page ,look at the back of the countdown,when lighting flashes you see numbers and letters firs three are 5,6,then c,o,e then others

Dont think its johnny cos theres a johnny in every single MGS game, so they are a family, i.e Johnny's grandfather in MGS4 is the Johnny prison guard in MGS3, so i cant see him being a clone, plus his hair had a blondish touch, it wasnt plain brunette like the picture on the site...so i dont think its him..

@Gman I dont think so. Firstly, Frank Jaeger didnt become the Ninja until just before MGS1. Second; if we take what was in the translated interview as fact, then this new game is 7 years after MGS4. So I think the image of Big Boss that appears in the teaser site is actually Johnny (Akiba). Because he'd be roughy in his mid 30 by now and he looked like a young Snake in 4.

id take a game half as good as mgs4 on the ps3 lol my roommate owns a ps3 and metal gear and ive loved every metal gear solid game to date, but i only own a 360 so i can only hope lol

looks like the game could be snake vs big boss in africa, which took place between mgs 1 and mgs 3 and had Frank Jaeger(ninja) in it.

I'd say that Raiden is reall Frank Jaeger, the eyes are a different color and if you look closely the area of the armor around the neck appears to be orange, just like parts from the cyborg ninja.

@Tanares Although the site DOES flash a 3, 6, and 0, it does not do so in this order. Considering that it also flashes a "5" which could very well be an S, as well as a C, the site could also be flashing PS3, PC, or PSP.

Didn't the new PSP Go article mention a new MGS for PSP? Another portable ops is looking very likely now, but we'll have to wait for the Konami conference to be sure I suppose.

Its DEFINENTLY not MGS4 going to 360... How ever, I think it is another Metal Gear Solid game, 360 exclusive. Wont be as good as MGS4 though.

importing them on the HDD would take up too much room on the HDD for arcade games, demos, downloaded games, game files, etc. MGS4 doesnt even store on the PS3.

Even if it was on multiple discs you'd be able to install them onto the HDD. I don't see why a 360 port of MGS4 is such a bad idea?

XBox 360 version of MGS4 yeah right, besides how many disks are they planing to put the game on six. Im sorry but there is no way this will work.

Currently the flashes are: Raiden, 3,6,0 (yes I think thats to announce MG4 on 360) C, P, R, S or 5 and a picture of Big Boss... the hat Big Boss wears is whats most interesting. Hints the founding of Outer Heaven.

no, when using the term orthodox it means it stays pretty conservative to the truth. what kojima was saying in the interview is that the story would fit into the metal gear timeline, and stay orthodox to the story, which was then followed by "peolpe would understand the story." he wasnt saying its going to be called orthodox and it will cover the entire span of 50 years.

it's pretty much already been revealed that this i supposed to be a game that spans over the whole era of the Metal Gear storyline (and beyond MGS4) and refer to it as the Metal Gear orthodox or something along those lines (they also registered the name Metal Gear Existence)... someone translated what they could of that Famitsu magazine article and that's what the interview says.... oh, and they refer to the Big Boss picture as "Old Man" and never call him Snake, so people are speculating that it's yet another Bog Boss clone of some kind, but Kojima apparently has used the term "Old Man" in past interviews to describe Snake so i wouldn't look to much into that check it out << LINK REMOVED >>
